5 Early Victorian Scottish landscapes china dessert service, circa 1835-40, individually decorated with a differing central landscape within a polychrome floral border detailed with gilt, the landscapes titled in red verso, comprising twelve plates, two serving dishes and a circular serving dish (15)
Note: It has been suggested that this service may have been produced at the Glaswegian Verreville Pottery at Finnieston on the Clyde, where skilled labour was introduced from the Derby China Works, and potters, gilders, flower and landscape painters were introduced from Coalport and several of the more famous Staffordshire china works.
