40 Good and rare Burmantofts faience 'Persian' plaque by Leonard King, circa 1887, decorated with an exotic bird in blues and pinks against an Iznik style ground of flowers and foliage in blue, turquoise and pink and outlined in black, the underside rim further decorated with semi-flowerheads in turquoise, impressed marks 'Burmantofts Faience', incised number '54', monogrammed and with 'ice cream cone' mark, further number 'D.531-2567-', 40cm diameter
NB: It is largely understood that Burmantofts pieces that carry the ice cream cone mark were exhibited at the Saltaire Exhibition of 1887
