CATALOGUE AMENDMENT: Highland officer's dress pistol, by Mortimer, .48 calibre (40 bore), 7'' sighted barrel with foliate engraving, the forend engraved with thistles, with steel ramrod, the stock with rear sight, replaced engraved hammer, thistle engraved side plates, signed, the top of the handle with traces of engraving, the handle inset with silver sphinx and shell scrolls with rams horn terminals and replaced thistle form ball pricker, the ball trigger engraved with a star and with belt bar, length 29cm (NB: There is nothing on this pistol which relates directly to the Gordon Highlanders therefore the description has been changed to reflect this. as per a similar pistol sold by Thomas Del Mar, Lot 385, 4th December 2019)
