Extensive Victorian silver table service in the Wellington pattern, by George W Adams of Chawner & Co., London 1855, engraved with a crest of a lion rampant supporting a cutlass, comprising: 24 dinner forks, weight approx. 2.295kg; 24 dessert forks, weight approx. 1.413kg; 23 dessert spoons and a later matched spoon, maker JA/TS, London 1892, weight approx. 1.489kg; 12 table spoons, weight approx. 1156kg; 11 teaspoons and a later spoon, maker JA/TS, London 1892, weight approx. 420g; two stuffing or basting spoons, weight approx. 418g; two sauce ladles, weight approx. 185g; four salt spoons, weight approx. 84g; two butter knives, weight approx. 132g; sauce ladle, weight approx. 304g (in total approx. 7.896kg/254 troy ozs); in addition there are 12 later matching dinner knives by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1971, supplied by Lowe & Sons, Chester, and 24 dessert knives of similar date (143 pieces)

All is engraved with a conforming crest. All have clear hallmarks.
Stuffing spoons - good condition, flat nose to the bowl. Gravy ladle - three sharp pinprick dents to the bowl. Slight misshaping to the bowl. Sauce ladles - Good. Butter knives - One has a slightly more worn tip to the nose of the blade than the other. Dinner forks - all good, the tines are good. Dessert spoons - All good with little or no sign of wear to the nose of the bowls, though some have slightly more wear than others. Dessert knives - good condition, have seen very little use. Table spoons - all good, the bowls showing little signs of wear to the nose, being overly critical some have tiny nicks to the edges. Teaspoons - some are slightly more worn than others at the nose but all generally good. Dessert forks - slight wear to the outer tines and some slightly bent inwards. Dinner knives - good condition having seen very little use. Salt spoons - good condition. Overall a good suite with only minor surface scratches and knocks consistent with being stored loose in cloth wraps.
