The books were printed by Robert Cadell of Edinburgh and Houlston & Stoneman of London 1848. This condition report is merely a visual report concerning the external condition of the books.

The spines have scuffs through thumbnail contact with the spines, top and bottom. Minor scuffs also to the corners of the books, some foxing particularly to the printed frontispieces. The completeness of the books has not been checked and the books are an incomplete set and an incomplete run.

The bookcase is later, perhaps 1890 - 1900 and is generally in good condition.
