Edwardian enamelled pearl circular brooch, centred with a roundel depicting a cherub being drawn on a shell by a butterfly, bordered with split seed pearls, backed in yellow gold (unmarked), with safety chain, 22mm, gross weight approx. 5g

More Information

When viewed through a 10x loupe there are numerous small scratches to the image in the centre of the brooch. There is a pinprick hole in the gold border mounting the image. The outer pearls are all good.

On the back the image is mother-of-pearl. Whether the image is enamelled directly onto mother-of-pearl, or there is a mother-of-pearl disc at the back, is hard to determine, see images.

The pin is good and the safety chain intact.
