Elkington & Co. electroplated spirit kettle, circa 1870, melon shape with swing handle and hinged cover with flower finial, the body adorned with floral panels and engraved with family crests, the base with a partial burner, raised on scrolled dolphin legs with shell form feet, height 35cm

More Information

The handle is constructed in three parts, the central part being divided from the others by an ivory insulator. This is a little loose at the joints. The body of the teapot, whilst unpolished appears to be good with no major dents or particular problems. Two crests, one which is rather interesting with three lions and the saltaire, see images. The base is missing its central wick element but the reservoir is intact. There must be a slight bend to one of the feet as it rocks slightly. Both pins are intact. Some minor bends to the piercing around the neck of the stand.

Please note when polished this piece may exhibit a little "bleeding" in places which cannot be seen at present.
