Japanese Satsuma polyganol jar and cover, by Shuzan, Meiji (1868-1912), finely decorated with lozenge shaped panels featuring figures and landscape bordered with formalised patterns of flowers and trellis, all in colours, heightened with gilt, signed, height 12.5cm

The cover has been broken and poorly repaired, with small losses. At the base there is slight rubbing to the gilt around the rim and at the outermost points of the base, but overall the base is in good condition.
