Chinese silver beaker, maker probably Hung Chong (Canton and Shanghai), late 19th/early 20th Century, tapered cylinder form worked with a gecko approaching a spider, signed with initials and character to the base, height 6.5cm, weight approx. 62g (1.99 troy ozs)

Viewed under a 10x loupe two of the spider legs have become detached from the body of the beaker. There is a light dent to the rim of the beaker, taking it out of round. There is a scratch emanating from the end of the tail of the salamander heading towards the spider, visible but able to be polished out. Marks are clear. No further damage.
