Buying at Byrne's
Saleroom procedures in place for being Covid-19 secure
We are really, really looking forward to seeing all our buyers again, and we hope that you have all kept safe and well during lockdown. We have worked really hard to implement changes that ensure the saleroom is safe for us and you for viewing and collecting lots. But I am sure you appreciate that we will need your help and probably a great deal of your patience to make sure that everything runs smoothly as we speed along this learning curve! We will constantly review procedures and make changes accordingly, and your constructive feedback will be welcomed. In brief the biggest changes that affect buyers are detailed below:
Our next auction will take place on 24th June at 10am. This will be conducted behind closed doors. Facilities for online bidding will be available, as will commission bidding and limited telephone bidding.
Viewing for this auction will take place on 22nd and 23rd June. We can accommodate a maximum of 20 people in the saleroom at a time so viewing will be on an appointment basis between 10am and 6pm. One hour slots (or mulitples thereof) can be booked by phone after the catalogue has been published online after 15th June. More than one member of a household can attend but each individual must book a place. When you book a slot to view you will be sent our guidance for viewing.
There will be no public access to the saleroom on sale day. Invoices will be sent once the sale has finished and payment can be made using our online payment facility or by bank transfer or contactless payment at the saleroom. Cash and cheque payments cannot be accepted.
We will minimise contact as far as possible when you are collecting lots. This means we will not able to deal with as many people at the same time as usual and it may mean that collections take longer. You can collect from 9am on Thursday 25th June. We won't operate a strict appointment system, but we ask that you let us know when you are planning to collect so that if we feel there may be long queues we can suggest alternatives for the benefit of everyone. If you buy something that requires two people to remove it from the saleroom you will need to bring someone with you to help.
Whilst we are extremely busy arranging consignments of lots we anticipate that operating in the current manner will mean that we will have to have our next auction in three weeks time so please keep an eye on the website for more details.
Our usual terms of business apply.
