George III silver teapot on stand, by Henry Chawner, London 1792, the fluted teapot with ebony pineapple finial and ebony handle, chased with flowerheads and guilloche bands, with a foliate scroll cartouche, reeded tapered spout, height 17.5cm, on a shaped oval stand, similarly decorated and raised on lappet feet, 17cm x 14cm, gross weight approx 700g (22.5 troy ozs)

More Information

Condition of both is very good. The two pieces are matched. In our opinion the handle may be a replacement, as the finial appears to be green stained horn. The hinge of the teapot lid is good. Hallmarks conform to the stand as does the engraving and the monogram.
