Pair of Victorian hand decorated ruby glass vases, circa 1870, footed bulbous form decorated with a raised portrait of a young woman in colours against a gilt decorated ruby ground (handles ground), 20cm

Principal damage is that the lug handles have been ground down (see images). Elsewhere there is wear to the gilt detailing, particularly to the keying around the neck and on the upper rim. Both portrait panels are good. Minor light surface fractures to the gilt rim around the foot and slight wear to the key decoration on the top of the foot. No further damage detected.
