James Lomax, Blackburn, a mahogany and inlaid eight day longcase clock, the hood with verre eglomise panels centred with a spurious gilt date '1778', over two double brass capped Corinthian columns, flanking a painted 15'' arched dial, the spandrels decorated with sailors in various states of inebriation, and with a sailing boat automata to the arch, subsidiary seconds and date dials to the centre, eight day movement striking on a bell, with a pendulum and two weights, the trunk with brass capped corinthian columns flanking a flame mahogany door with conch shell inlays in satinwood and harewood, over a canted box base with inlaid panel, raised on short bracket feet, height 245cm
