Victorian black lacquered papier mache lady's dressing table, circa 1850, the back having a circular mirror over a top inlaid with birds, flowers and butterflies in mother of pearl and gilt line decoration, raised on scroll front supports originally accommodating a drawer (runners now deficient but drawer present), the lower back also inset with a mirror (detached), over a shaped base with ball feet and white castors, width 70cm, height 100cm, depth 43cm

The top has wear to the gilt details on the mother of pearl, with some losses. There is wear to the gilt detail on the edge and losses to the mother of pearl tesserae within the lattice background of the table top. Underneath the table top there is a lack of runners to support the drawer. The table is quite wobbly. Wear to the base and minor knocks to the extremities. The mirror from the back of the base is present, it has a degraded edge. The drawer is in quite good condition with good detailing. The castors are original.
