Italian walnut cassone, 19th Century, the hinged top opening to a candle box, the front centred with armorial style carved panel, and flanked by figural caryatids, raised on scroll carved feet, width 160cm, depth 56cm, height 68cm

The top has a number of minor, but quite recent, scratches. The top does appear to be restored; the grain appearing open and possibly varnished.
The central carved panel at the front has a crack running vertically on the left hand side and two smaller cracks. There are knocks and scrapes at the extremities.
There is no key. No further damage
