Victorian specimen wood parquetry box, inlaid throughout and crossbanded with walnut, opening to a vacant interior with mirror to the inside cover, width 31.5cm, depth 25cm, height 14.5cm; also a Victorian amboyna and burr walnut box, vacant interior, 29cm x 18cm x 9cm (2)

More Information

The parquetry box has some fading on the top, together with old knocks and scrapes. There is a small amount of veneer missing at the upper left corner. There is wear to the ebonising around the moulding of the base.
The interior is largely missing, other than the mirror.
There is fading on the back of the box.
The other box is of good colour. There are splits to the veneers on the left hand side. There is a small split on the upper right corner of the front panel. The box does have a key. The interior is vacant. There is a ring mark on the top. Minor knocks and scrapes. Overall this box is of good colour and patination.
