Fees

Late George III mahogany and inlaid bookcase cabinet, circa 1790-1810, of small proportions, surmounted with a fretwork and inlaid swan neck pediment, over a lattice inlaid frieze, twin astragal glazed doors opening to three shelves, all within blind fretwork canted corners, the base fitted with a reading slide, over two short drawers with brass beaded ring handles, and two recessed panel cupboard doors, with satinwood banded oval inlays, further flanked with blind fretwork corners, all raised on splayed bracket feet, width 91cm, height 211cm, depth 48cm

More Information

The centre of the cornice should house a finial which is missing and there is loss to the moulding either side of the central plinth. There are some losses to the blind fretwork on the right hand side of the upper cabinet. On the top of the base there are splits to the veneer and a patch of water damage. The ring handles to the two drawers are replacements, as are the locks. There are some minor nibbles around the base beneath the two cupboard doors. Overall a nice colour and patina throughout. There is a key.
