Unusual ebony and white metal 'Man in the Moon' page turner; also a Second World War brass shell case

Sadly, the head of the page turner is badly dented. There may be a little soft solder repair within the dent.This is not silver but appears to be plated pewter. On top of the head is a fly hence the grimacing face. The stick is chipped at its base.
