More Information

This clock does not use a chain fusee but instead a wire (see photo). We have both a key and a winder.
The mahogany case is suffering from losses and lifting of the veneer and splits to the case body. There have been a number of repairs to the case (see images). The sound panels both have dents with deterioration to the fabric backing. The right hand panel is loose. The feet are not well aligned with the case which suggests that they have been reattached.
The case would benefit from a program of restoration. The silvered dial would also benefit from some attention as it is beginning to blacken.
The suspension spring is broken and hence in need of replacement and thus, we are unable to hang the pendulum. The crutch arm is bent but is ticking away on winding – please do note our special terms and conditions for the sale of clocks and watches.
The later wall bracket is suffering from the splitting of its veneers. There are also splits and losses around the lower screw hole on the supporting bracket. The top of the bracket displays further splits and losses but also some paint spotting.
