Victorian walnut and upholstered spoonback armchair, circa 1860, with carved cresting rail, deep buttoned pad back and seat, upholstered in foliate cream coloured fabric, open pad arms, carved cabriole forearms, cabriole legs, with pot castors, width 70cm, height 99cm

The chair has undergone restoration and varnishing. There are some later repairs to the carving on the cresting rail. The upholstery is in good condition and is relatively new. The chair is really quite firm and in our view not particularly comfortable, but it is a drawing room chair.
