Fees

Late George III gold and blue enamelled mourning locket, circa 1790, of large size and centred with a gold monogram against finely woven hair, the reverse centred with woven hair and with gold initials within a blue enamelled border, 90mm x 65mm

More Information

The gold edge bordering the blue enamel is uneven and a little sharp in places meaning it has a compressed leading edge. On the obverse side, again, the thin band of gold bordering the locket centre has a small loss. There are minor surface scratches visible through a 10x loupe. The enamel is in good condition, the hair is good and the initial work is good.
