Late Victorian or Edwardian turquoise, diamond and pearl brooch, circa 1900, elliptical form centred with a cabochon turquoise in a star mount, inset with small rose cut diamonds, in an openwork setting also set with round turquoise and at the edges radiating spurs set with split pearls and further tiny diamonds, unmarked, 51mm x 34cmm

The condition overall is good. There are differences in colour within the turquoise, particularly the centre stone, having oxidised and turned green. On the side of the central stone there is a small dark flaw.

Another turquoise has similar flaws visible when viewed through a 10x loupe.

The diamonds are all regularly cut. The mounts are all good. It is not gold.

The weight of the brooch is 20.8g. The pearls are well matched. The diamonds are rather grey.
