Selling at Byrne's

We are really, really looking forward to vendors consigning to our auctions again, and we hope that you have all kept safe and well during lockdown.  We have worked really hard to implement changes that ensure the saleroom is safe for us and you when consigning lots.  But I am sure you appreciate that we will need your help and probably a great deal of your patience to make sure that everything runs smoothly as we speed along this learning curve! We will constantly review procedures and make changes accordingly, and your constructive feedback will be welcomed. In brief the biggest changes that affect vendors are detailed below:

Please do not come to the saleroom with lots to consign without having been in contact with us first.  We can no longer accept consignments that have not already been approved for entry.

If you have items you are considering selling please call us or send photographs by e-mail and we will confirm their suitability for sale and let you know the process for consigning.

We are NOT holding open valuation mornings as previously.  If you require a valuation prior to selling please e-mail photographs or call us. If we are not able to help you on the telephone or through e-mail we may ask you to make an appointment to bring the item(s) in.  The way in which we deal with this will be dependent on the nature of the items being valued so we may do the valuation there and then or we may ask you to leave items with us and report on them at a later date.

If you wish to consign items that you have already had valued by us, either at the saleroom or during a home visit, please tell us when you get in touch as it makes it much easier to help you.

In order to facilitate social distancing in the saleroom for viewing we have reduced capacity for the number of lots we can accommodate. We are therefore having to be more selective about the quantity and quality of lots that we accept from individuals. Please do not be offended if we refuse your goods at this time.
