We are delighted to announce that Byrne’s Auctioneers & Valuers has been acquired by our friends and neighbours Rogers Jones & Co.
Following a conversation back in September with Ben Rogers Jones, both Jo Boucher and I agreed that at this stage of our careers and having grown Byrne’s to the successful practice that it now is, it was time for the business to progress further in an ever competitive market place.
Rogers Jones & Co. has firmly established itself as Wales premier auction rooms covering the entirety of the country and carving a strong reputation for the sales of Welsh art, sporting memorabilia and country house auctions in addition to professional valuation services through its offices in Colwyn Bay, Carmarthen, Cardiff and Gregynog Hall in mid Wales.
Their acquisition of Byrne’s Chester will guarantee the continuity of professional auction services here in Chester and throughout the North west for both private clients and the legal services now and for decades to come.
I myself will continue as Chester’s auctioneer of choice and will join the team of Rogers Jones to bring increasing specialisation to the city and beyond.
Jo Boucher will remain as a consultant for the foreseeable future ensuring a smooth transition for all clients old and new.
On a personal note, both Jo and I are pleased that our business built successfully over 20 years will continue to grow within the expanding umbrella of the Rogers Jones Partnership.
We are looking forward to working closely with Richard Hughes, auctioneer for the North of Wales and the rest of the team throughout Wales.
Unifying our specialist knowledge, whether in Chinese ceramics, jewellery, Modern British and Victorian art, our Chester saleroom will enhance the provision of existing services within the Rogers Jones partnership.
We are confident that our business is in exceptionally safe hands and we are looking forward to an exciting future to the benefit of all our clients both professional and private.
